Emiliano Motta aka Moganjah is a Mexican composer and music producer. He has made original film soundtracks for the last 20 years, and at the same time produced ambient, reggae and recently groovy African/tribal electronic music.
After traveling every year to Uganda since
2015, working with different artists and co-creating
Nyege Nyege festival, he created his own
music label in 2019, Makabila Umoja, that has
built a great network of musicians. He also developed a live set full of clubby modern grooves with a nice African touch, with a deeply tribal and futuristic approach.
Also, he has worked in some field recording in remote places of Uganda like Iganga to record the Nakibembe Xilophone group and Awach to record the ensamble of the multi lukeme tribe (kalimba) Lubanga Ki Ngom Aye Kwo (awach boys)
He has performed in many venues and festivals like Nyege Nyege (UG), ABC Burkina Faso, Roskilde and Borderland (DK) and many others.
He has also collaborated with great artists like Otim Alpha, Leo Palayeng, Makadem, Swordman Kitala, John Mutombo, Omutaba Ngoma, and many others.
